How we work

Linksh aims to give people who run their own work answers they can rely on. This page describes how we work and what we aim for.

How we choose topics

We aim to write about what people actually need. Before we take on a topic, we look for evidence that people are already searching for it or asking about it — in search results, related questions and real discussions. News alone isn't a reason for us to write, and we don't chase hype.

Sources

We aim to work from sources and keep a log of where facts came from and when we accessed them. When we can't find evidence for something, we'd rather leave it out.

What we add

A summary of what's already online isn't enough. We aim for each article to add something of its own, such as:

  • a real test or comparison, with our own original screenshots;
  • original data we collected ourselves, such as a price comparison.

Fact-checking

We aim to include a fact-check against sources, by someone other than the writer, before an article goes live. When something doesn't hold up, we aim to send it back to be fixed.

Dates and updates

We aim to show when an article was published and last updated, so you can see how current it is.

What our articles are not

Our articles explain rules, tools and options. They aren't advice on your own legal, tax or financial situation — for that, talk to a qualified professional.

What we aim for

We'd rather publish fewer, better articles than many forgettable ones. Our aim is that you leave a Linksh article knowing what to do next.
